Inflammation of the peritoneum rarely occurs. Most patients have a history of acute pelvic organ inflammation. Before the onset of symptoms, the patient had high fever and chills. The body temperature may reach 40 degrees or higher. Severe cramping in the lower abdomen that may continue pain while urinating and defecation sometimes diarrhea or constipation.
